When CallTower made the acquisition of Appia this year, it brought together two companies providing hosted voice and UCaaS solutions; however these companies were not competitors. Both companies were supplying solutions via their partner channels, but the end users, solutions and partner channels were quite different. CallTower has been robust in the UCassS space providing Skype for Business, Hosted Cisco Call Manager and multiple Collaboration services. Appia has been providing Metaswitch Hosted PBX, SIP Trunking services along very strong fax options with great success. Appia’s target customers were traditionally in the small and medium sector while CallTower’s was working from the medium to the enterprise space.
