You want to make sure your name is the first name that they think about when their customers and clients approach them with an issue. When you are able to stay ahead of the curve with your channel partners or resellers, you will eventually make a name for yourself in the sales model. Staying On Top Of The Updates
As a channel sales representative, it is also important that you make sure the sales channel you are using remains updated on the products and services you are offering. Many times as a channel sales representative, you will discover that your channel partners are not always aware when new updates and products hit the market. Many channel partners do not discover this information until the channel sales representative arrives for the meeting or presentation and delivers the new information.
Many people do not have the resources that are needed to share the information with all the people who are part of the sales channel every time a new update or a new product is released. Generally, when a new update or product is released the information will spread on its own once a few people become aware of it.
However, when a new product is released and you become aware of it, you can create a network and populate that network so you could inform your entire sales channel. When you are able to keep your partners or resellers on top of what is going on, you will play a huge part into making sure they are successful in their industry.
